The Nexus - German International University (Cairo, Egypt)

The Nexus developed AeroSense AgriBot, a hybrid ground-and-aerial robot that combines volatile organic compound sensing, visual and thermal imaging, on-site micro-cutting and electrostatic-airflow pollination assistance. The platform hovers above crops using aerodynamic forces and walks the field on insect-inspired legs, sampling air for chemical signatures of early plant stress. When stress is detected, onboard visual and thermal sensors confirm the diagnosis, and an integrated micro-cutter removes infected tissue at the source before disease spreads. During bloom, the system supports targeted pollination by generating electrostatic airflow that delivers pollen to receptive flowers, offering a single robotic platform that bridges crop health monitoring, intervention and pollination support.
