Precision Horticulture Lab - University of Georgia (Tifton, GA)

The Precision Horticulture Lab has developed an automated chemical mixing and dispensing system that lives directly on spray drones. The project integrates onboard chemical reservoirs, pumps, and a mixer with a mobile app that calculates application rates and prepares precise tank mixtures for each flight. This modular system is designed to work across different drone sizes, reduce pre flight setup time, and cut down on operator error in complex mixing workflows. By automating on board preparation, the platform aims to lower chemical exposure, minimize miscalculations, and reduce downtime between flights so growers can scale drone spraying safely and efficiently.
