The goal of Team Electrified Slugs was make the Amiga robot easier and more intuitive for small scale organic farmers to use, while also making it more autonomous. The project focused on improving human-robot interaction through the development of a mobile application, a human-following system using computer vision, and exploring localization methods utilizing Time-of-Flight sensors and GPS.

The mobile app allows users to control the robot remotely, view live video, use an emergency stop button, and switch to autonomous navigation-all designed to make the robot safer and easier to use from a distance. The human-following system was created based on feedback from farm workers and helps reduce the amount of manual labor needed. The localization work offers a low-cost alternative to expensive GPS systems. Overall, these solutions are designed to be affordable and user-friendly, with the hope of making a positive impact on organic farming.
