The Amiga Innovation Award honors the teams who demonstrate exceptional innovation using the Amiga platform to solve significant challenges in agricultural operations.
Winning entries should showcase unique applications, technical excellence, and measurable impact using Amiga’s features (like automation, attachments, or software). Solutions should demonstrate clear practical benefits and potential for wider adoption.

$2,500 cash prize for the Academy team
Cash prizes are funded through UC Agriculture and Natural Resources (UC ANR). Sponsor contributions have been transferred to UC ANR, which will distribute awards directly.
Prizes will be issued as checks made payable to the winning institution (or its representative foundation) and sent to the team’s faculty or staff advisor. Awards are provided in the form of a gift, giving faculty/staff advisors flexibility in how the funds are used to support their teams.
Payment Process:
To receive an award payment, each Farm Robotics Challenge award recipient must complete UC Agriculture and Natural Resources’ payee-registration process through PaymentWorks. PaymentWorks is the secure system UC ANR uses to collect and verify the information needed to issue payments.
After awards are announced, eligible recipients will receive instructions for completing PaymentWorks registration. Award payments can only be issued after all required onboarding information and documentation have been submitted and approved.
For team awards, payment may be made to the team’s school, college, university, nonprofit organization, fiscal sponsor, or another approved payee, rather than directly to an individual student or team member. Recipients should work with their institution’s appropriate business or finance office as needed.
The Farm Robotics Challenge (FRC) staff will guide each winning team through this process to ensure timely distribution.
Once paperwork is submitted, please allow up to two months for the award check to be received by the designated team contact.
Amiga Flex*

The Startup Grand Prize-winning team may be eligible to receive an Amiga Flex from Bonsai Robotics if an Amiga device is incorporated as a key component of its project design and the team accepts and fully executes the Grand Prize award.

If the Startup Grand Prize-winning team incorporates an Amiga device as a key component of its project design, it will be eligible to receive an Amiga Flex upon accepting and fully executing the Grand Prize award.

The Amiga Flex product donation is a potential supplemental award for the Startup Grand Prize-winning team and will not be distributed at the competition.
Following the competition, Bonsai Robotics will verify that the winning team has incorporated an Amiga device as a key component of its project design and has accepted and fully executed all Startup Grand Prize award requirements.
Delivery timing may vary and may occur several months after the competition. The donation is subject to product availability and any applicable institutional, legal, shipping, export, tax, and transfer requirements.
The Amiga Flex product donation is provided by Bonsai Robotics and is not a cash equivalent, is nontransferable, and may not be substituted, exchanged, or redeemed for cash.
